About Dr.Yingjie Lisa Wu
Healthy Teeth as a Pillar for a Healthy Lifestyle
“Healthy teeth are important because our mouth is one of the key ways bacteria can affect our bodies and our overall health. Numerous studies have demonstrated that bad oral hygiene can affect our bodies – contributing to heart disease, infections, obesity, and diabetes. It can also affect how well we look when we age, and if you’re pregnant, the health of your unborn baby.”
My Philosophy
“I am a big fan of prevention, so I like to encourage my patients to come in for regular check-ups to prevent problems such as tooth loss, toothaches, and gum disease – all in a comfortable, pleasant environment. The investment my patients make in their teeth today can save thousands of dollars in the long-run, and spare them from avoidable pain and problems in the future. ”

OUR SERVICES
Periodontal Care
What is periodontal disease you may ask? It is an infection that affects the tissues and bone that support teeth. If you have been diagnosed with periodontal disease, you are not alone. Many others have the same problem. Periodontal disease has no cure but must be managed. Here at Dental Permanente of Stamford we do just that! We will provide you with easy to manage treatment options depending upon the type and severity of the disease. Don't wait until it hurts, schedule your perio evaluation now.
Preventive Care
Have you had your 2 cleanings this year? Regular preventive care, early diagnosis and treatment can help you avoid more costly dental problems that may develop or be worsened by lack of basic preventive care. To promote preventive care, many dental plans pay all or most of the cost for routine dental checkups, including cleanings and exams. Take advantage of those benefits and schedule your appointment now!
Restorative (Fillings)
A dental restoration or dental filling is a dental material in most cases called composite that is used to restore the function, integrity and morphology of missing tooth structure. The structural loss typically results from caries or external trauma.
Invisalign
Transform your smile with Invisalign, the clear alternative to braces. By using a series of clear, removable aligners, Invisalign straightens your teeth with results you'll notice sooner than you think. The course of treatment involves changing aligners approximately every two weeks, moving your teeth into a straighter position step by step, until you have a more beautiful smile.
Crowns
Teeth that cannot be saved with a simple filling need a dental crown. A dental crown is a cap which fits snugly over an existing tooth, providing aesthetic beauty while protecting the remaining tooth material from decay. Most dental crowns are made from high-quality porcelain, which gives your teeth a healthy glow, mirroring how your natural teeth react to sunlight. In fact, most people won’t even know you’ve had work done.
eNDODONTICS (root CAnal)
Millions of teeth are treated and saved each year with endodontic treatment. Endodontic treatment is necessary when the pulp becomes inflamed or infected. The pulp contains blood vessels, nerves and connective tissue, and helps to grow the root of your tooth during development. Endodontic treatment will help you maintain your natural smile, continue eating the foods you love and limits the need for ongoing dental work. With proper care, most teeth that have had root canal treatment can last forever!
extractions
Although permanent teeth were meant to last a lifetime, there are a number of reasons why tooth extraction may be needed. Whatever the cause, you can be sure that we will inform you of any other options before making the decision to remove a tooth. Should tooth extraction become necessary, you are assured the nurturing care that comes with any Dental Permanente of Stamford procedure. We understand that the process of having a tooth extracted can be daunting, so we will make all efforts to keep you comfortable throughout the procedure.
Teeth Whitening
Looking for a whiter, brighter smile? We offer in-office whitening! We will provide our patients with; Opalesence Boost plus a take home whitening kit to achieve faster and longer lasting results.
Removable prosthetic
Partial dentures or complete dentures are a removable option to replace missing teeth. Dentures are the most common removable prosthesis in the market and are, by far, the most common way that most patients choose to replace their missing teeth. The reason behind this is that, despite all the advancements in dental technology, removable prosthesis are noninvasive and will not require any surgical incisions or painful recovery.
Healthy Start System Sleep Apnea
Your child’s sleep impacts every aspect of their health and daily life. Sleeping well helps them look, feel and perform their best. But a sleep problem can be harmful to your child’s health and well-being. One of the most common sleep problems is obstructive sleep apnea. To learn more about the Healthy Start appliance and how it can help your child, schedule an appointment now. Start early, don’t wait!
Veneers
Dental veneers have the ability to transform your smile and give you picture-perfect teeth. Veneers are thin, semi-translucent “shells” of tooth-colored ceramic material that are bonded to the front of your teeth in order to cover worn tooth enamel, tooth discoloring, cracked or chipped teeth. Even teeth that have uneven spacing. Veneers are a great alternative to otherwise painful dental procedures to improve the appearance of your smile.
bridges
We provide our patients with dental bridges if they want to replace a missing tooth without wearing dentures or undergoing surgery. Gaps left by missing teeth eventually cause the remaining teeth to rotate or shift into the empty spaces, resulting in a bad bite. The imbalance caused by missing teeth can also lead to gum disease and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders. Dental bridges work very much like dental crowns but have the added benefit of replacing a missing tooth or teeth.
tmj-temporal-mandibular joint
Do you suffer from headaches, earaches, neck or back pain? This may be because your upper and lower teeth don’t fit together quite right. This creates a conflict between your teeth and jaw joints that leads to teeth clenching and grinding (bruxism) and ultimately pain and damage. Get relief now! Get fitted for a personalized night guard. A night guard, also known as a dental mouth guard or a bite guard, is an appliance that protects the teeth and other vital structures by offering a protective barrier between the upper and lower teeth.
TOOTH RESHAPING
Tooth reshaping is a process where a dentist can alter the shape of the teeth. It is used in situations such as but not limited to a tooth that is slightly longer. Having a tooth that is longer than neighboring teeth can cause discomfort in chewing or biting. If you are considering tooth reshaping, you should contact us. Dr. Wu has extensive experience and she is more than happy to spend some time with you and reviewing your situation. She can explain the process to you and answer any questions you may have.
Emergency Dentistry
Sometimes no matter how carefully we plan and even if we keep those check ups regularly there will be emergency problems.
